Beaches of Goa

Goa's 105 km coastline is endowed with lovely beaches some of which such as Vagator, Anjuna, Calangute, Baga and Harmal in the North of Goa and Colva, Betul and Palolem in the South have already become world famous. To locate these beaches check out the Map of Goa.

ARAMBOL:

Far from the maddening crowd, this is a lovely, serene beach quite secluded and great for beach lovers.

BENAULIM:

In South Goa, this long stretch of white sand is great for sun lovers.

MIRAMAR:

(GASPAR DIAS, 3 kms) A lovely golden beach girdled with palm trees facing the Arabian Sea.

DONA PAULA:

(7 kms) An idyllic and picturesque picnic spot commands a fine view of the Zuari estuary and Mormugao Harbour.

COLVA:

(about 6 kms from Margao) Colva beach is the pride of Salcete and the rival of Calangute in scenic splendour. Here land, sea and sky blend in enchanting natural harmony.

CALANGUTE:

(15 kms) The Queen of Goa's Beaches and the most popular holiday resort in Goa known for its scenic splendour. Excellent accommodation facilities are available, particularly at the Tourist Resort.

CANDOLIM:

Away from Calangute´s tourism on the southernmost border of the famous beach Candolim offers Tourists with a more peaceful attitude a secret corner to experience the natural side of Goa. The well-known Cuckoo Zen Garden Restaurant is a must see in this pictoresque area.

VAGATOR:

It is a lovely palm-fringed beach with the Chapora Fort in the back ground situated on the Kalsua along the Chapora river basin. The beach is visited by a number of tourists in summer.

BOGMALO:

About 13 kms from Vasco town, crossing Dabolim airport, the beach of Bogmalo is a popular picnic spot for the people in the vicinity.

AGONDA:

(About 37 kms from Margao and 8 kms from Canacona) A small picturesque and secluded beach where a number of nature lovers go for peace of mind.

PALOLIM:

(About 37 kms from Margao) Just West of Chandi one of the most enchanting beaches in Goa and relatively deserted with the backdrop of Western Ghats situated in the Southern most taluka of Canacona.

The Cuckoo Zen Garden and the Cuckoo Zen Clinic are located in the small idyllic Village of Candolim betwee Calangute and Candolim.

Directions in Candolim:	On the Candolim-Calangute Street at the heigth of "Bob´s Inn" turn into the street towards the beach and Hotel Sonesta Inn. Follow the signboards towards Cuckoo Zen Garden
Approach from Dabolim airport:	Take a taxi for about 15$ towards Candolim
Flight:	Several European charterflights offer direct flights to Goa´s national Airport Dabolim. Other countries tourists will have to fly via Mumbai or Bangalore International airport and then by national flight towards Goa-Dabolim.
Accomodation:	Accomodation of all rates are plentyfull in Goa. Usually you will not have to book your room in advance. A 1 room appartment with bathroom you will get from about 130$ a month on. Approx. 260$ /m for 2RKB. Hotel Sonesta Inn - Ximer, Candolim 50 meters from Cuckoo Zen
Inoculations:	For Goa tourists inoculations are not necessary. None of the deseases you might read about in India travel guides are found in Goa. In all these years we had no case of Malaria or any other of the more serious sicknesses in the clinic. We did however observe an overall worse health condition in incolulated tourists.
